Trailnet Dust-Off Series: Eureka

Lions Park

From Trailnet.org: We’re kicking off the season with a series of rides for every type of cyclist! So get that bike down from the rafters, dust it off and join us for four straight Saturdays as we jumpstart the season. Each ride starts on a Great Rivers Greenway greenway and has a maximum distance of 25 miles. Shorter distances of 1-15 miles are also available. As opposed to our traditional BFC rides, the Dust Off rides are all group rides and led by an experienced rider. After each ride we will reconvene at a nearby watering hole to discuss our ride and other major world events. Starting in downtown Eureka Lions Park featuring the Meramec Greenway and Route 66 State Park. The post ride meet up is at Lions Park. See the route map here.

City night ride to the Planetarium

Llywelyn's Pub

On Monday, March 25th, the Planetarium will glow orange for MS Awareness Month. Details are TBD, but the plan is to head out from Llywelyn's in Soulard, with a jaunt through the Arch grounds, heading west on Market, to West Pine, through the SLU campus and on to Forest Park. We will stop at the Planetarium for a photo opp. If mutually agreeable, me might do a lap around the park. otherwise, we head back to Llywelyn's for refreshments. Lights on your bike are required (hi-vis apparel, reflective tape, etc. suggested) and we will be following the rules of the road. Rush hour traffic is gone, and downtown streets are mostly clear of traffic this time of a weekday night, the route has been worked out with a regular city bike commuter, but there are inherent risks with riding in the city at night (please join us only if you are comfortable with this). Some of us did a similar night ride recently and it was a blast!
