Friday Night Wine & Poetry Workshop (In English-All Welcome)

In this workshop we will read and talk about published poems and also have a chance to work on our own poetry projects. The evening will start with a free write on a theme (theme to be announced a week before the event.) We will then move into writing exercises and games to get our creativity flowing. Prompts and will be provided to those looking for ideas and inspiration. You will also have a chance to share parts of your writing in a non-critical environment. All levels of writers are welcome, and expect a fun time. Please note this is not a literary feedback group, but rather a workshop meant for creative exploration of the written word. The group will take place in a private home in Asagaya. The structure of this event is based on a poetry group that took place in Barcelona for 10 years. We will use the same format, and everyone will leave with new material!

General breakdown of the evening is as follows:

-Short introduction of who you are and what you write
-20 minute free write to music
-Optional share
-Group or individual writing game/exercise

BREAK (wine and snacks)

-Reading and discussion of published poems (3-5 poems depending on length of each piece)

The 500 yen fee helps cover provided snack and drink cost as well as meetup fees.
