Mountain Oak Campground is located at 6,400 feet in the Angeles National Forest and offers a nice escape from the summer heat of the Los Angeles basin. The campground is close to small (3-acre) Jackson Lake and is also close to many popular hiking trails in the San Gabriel Mountains. The small mountain community of Wrightwood is about 5 miles away.
Mountain Oak Campground has 17 single-family campsites in a nice forest of large pine trees. The campground has vault toilets and each campsite has a fire ring and table. Located at 6,400 feet, the campground is open mid-May to mid-November, is close to Jackson Lake and many hiking trails in the San Gabriel Mountains.
