Summer Camp : Musical Theater Workshop

The aim of this workshop is to introduce and familiarize students to the basic elements of musical theatre. With a curriculum designed to train children in singing, method acting and Broadway jazz, this workshop is also designed to help every child better their inter-personal skills. The contents of the workshop will allow them to enhance and direct their energies in developing creative thinking, reasoning, and most importantly inculcating the abilities required in stage performance.
3 main components, divided into different days:
Day 1: Introduction to musical theatre and method acting - Understanding the basics of musical theatre performance, Understanding/utilizing the space, the use of body in acting
Day 2: Vocal techniques - Exploring basics of singing, projection, broadway style belt
Day 3: Movement and jazz dance - Understanding the basics of jazz dance, incorporating movement with acting
Day 4: Vocal performance - Understanding the process and performance of a musical theatre number
Day 5 : Scene work and characterization - Building elements of the character, setting the premise of the play scenario and enacting/reacting to co-characters
Day 6 : Run-through and public performance
