Bring your telescopes. Saturn is back
Details
As we approach the end of summer it is getting darker earlier. Saturday night's forecast is for clear skies. The moon does not rise until after midnight and will be at 37%. Saturn is starting to appear in the east just after dark. With the moon rising late and being in its last quarter, we should have dark skies for viewing some of our favorite deep space objects.
For those that have telescopes at home we encourage you to bring them with you and set up on one of the observatories outside concrete pads.
Since this is northeast Ohio in September, weather can change quickly. Please check for updates before heading out. Also, as night falls and the Observatory is in the park, temperatures can drop more than expected. Bringing a jacket and dressing in layers is suggested.
