Old Logger's Path/Rock Run (1 night, beginner friendly)
Details
This is a 1 night 16.2 mile loop along Old Logger's Path in the McIntyre Wild Area. Although there will not be any grand vistas, the highlight of the trip will be a stop at Rock Run. This pristine series of streams and rock pools are gorgeous, and perfect for swimming in the summer heat.
Carpooling is heavily encouraged. We will form a group chat a couple weeks before the trip to plan carpooling. The listed start time is when we will start hiking, so be ready to leave early.
This is a beginner friendly hike. We will be hiking just over 8 miles a day, and there is a total elevation gain of under 2,000 feet for the entire hike. If you are in decent shape, you should be able to hike this without issue. The campsite is near a stream, but there is no pit toilet. If you need to borrow some basic gear such as a backpack and tent, some members have spares they can loan out.
Spaces are limited. Please only RSVP if you are reasonably sure you can make it. If you cannot, please cancel your RSVP. Thank you!
