What we're about

We usually hike between three and six miles. The description of each hike will provide details about the pace and the terrain.

Some hikes are in the woods. Some hikes are with dogs. Some are strictly fitness hikes designed to get 10,000 steps or more in your day. As always, hike at your own risk.

Upcoming events (5+)

Let's hike Perkins & Riding Run trails in the CVNP !

Everett Road Covered Bridge

Both of these trails are very good cardio bridle trails with steps, hills & primitive stream crossings. As the map above shows, there are a few short cuts we can take. There is a restroom @ the trail head but nothing to drink anywhere. Please bring something to drink. Pet & kid friendly. No one will be left behind. Hope to see you there !!

Let's hike to see a 1944 built iron horse run by !

Schumacher Trailhead ( Cascade North )

FYI: Cuyahoga Street to the south ( Akron ) is currently closed (sewer project). Thus I suggest getting there from the North say Portage Trail in Cuyahoga Falls. This will be a 2 mile+ out & back hike in remote areas with some good cardio. The exact time the iron horse goes by is undetermined, thus we will probably be waiting @ the very remote crossing for a while. There are no restrooms, nor drinking water on the trail. Please bring something to drink & your camera. Pet & kid friendly. There is a close by Circle K gas station. We can easily extend this good cardio hike to where there are restrooms and drinking fountains. No one will be left behind. Hope to see you there !

Fyi: Metro night hike & campfire @ Firestone

Firestone Metro Park - Tuscarawas Meadows

Friday, September 27, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM NIGHT HIKE AND FIRE It has been awhile since anyone has done anything @ Firestone Metro Park. The park has (3) trails. Expect a fun, inter-active experience. There are restrooms & drinking fountains nearby. bring a flashlight & a chair or blanket to sit on by the campfire. Learn about animals that are active at night and earn Fall Hiking Spree credit, too! Afterwards, we'll gather around a relaxing campfire. Good for Metro's Fall Hiking Spree credit. Location: Firestone Metro Park /Tuscarawas Meadows
