A Wednesday Gathering for Portland’s Independent Workers
Each Wednesday, Bridge Space—a 10,000-square-foot converted wellness and healing center in Southeast Portland—opens its doors to a growing community of freelancers, founders, designers, and developers. What began as a modest experiment in shared productivity has quickly evolved into a weekly ritual, where the rhythms of work and the practices of wellness intersect.
The day is structured but unhurried. Participants arrive at 10 a.m. for a two-hour focus block, setting the tone for deep work. At midday, the laptops close for a simple lunch break—some bring their own, others head out together to nearby cafes. Shortly after, the hum of work pauses again for a half-hour sound bath, led by healer Nicolette, a reminder that productivity and restoration need not be at odds.
In the afternoon, the tables and couches give way to conversation and collaboration. From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., attendees join a roundtable where builders and creatives share projects in progress. Each has a few minutes to present, to ask for feedback, or to invite new collaborators. The exchanges are informal yet intentional, often sparking connections that extend well beyond the day’s close.
The space itself is part of the appeal. Bridge Space offers the comforts of a living room—couches, open tables, and quiet nooks—alongside smaller rooms for private conversations or a moment of breathwork. The effect is less like an office and more like a salon, a gathering place for people who want to work, reflect, and exchange ideas in equal measure.
The event welcomes a wide range: startup founders, software engineers, product designers, wellness practitioners, and anyone seeking a change of scenery from the home office. “Coders who meditate, healers who ship”—the shorthand used by organizers—captures the eclectic mix.
Attendees are advised to bring the basics: a laptop and charger, perhaps a project to share, along with snacks or drinks for the day. A communal kitchen provides coffee, hot water, and a refrigerator for those who pack their own meals.
The weekly sessions, held at Bridge Space’s entrance on 2nd Avenue (next to the Mexican food truck), run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The program is organized in partnership with Bit Palette, Sun Souls, and Bridge Space.

Every week on Wednesday until February 18, 2026
