Big O notation is a convention used to demonstrate how code slows as data grows. Itβs a computer science concept that sounds complicated, but is actually very simple to understand and practical. In this talk, Robert will give an approachable introduction to the concept with examples in JavaScript. He will be modeling my talk after this great talk on the subject https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5zKiVIhiS0.
Robert is the lead developer at Callyo, a company that writes mission-critical software for law enforcement. He has experience writing software for the web (PHP/Node/React), IOS (swift), and Android (Kotlin/Java).

Join Kristen for a short workshop on a tricky but vital concept in JavaScript. First she will go over the difference between "this" and other variables. Then she will talk about how to use "this" effectively with the help of arrow functions and native methods. Bring a laptop if possible so you can try out her practical examples from React and Vue. Weβll finish with a quiz so youβll know you got "this"!
Kristen Wilde is a self-taught developer who likes to know how things work. As of July 2018 she is available for hire!
