Retro-Computing with Linux: PDP-10 and ITS

Details

Linux is a great platform for retro-computing and emulation. There's a wealth of information on running old game consoles, arcades and even early 8bit personal computers available online and in the context of our little LUG I'm not sure there is much value to be added rehashing that stuff here.

However, back in the before-times a topic that game up at a meeting was the release of the source code for an early text adventure game "Zork", from 1973. This was interesting but not very actionable, because getting it to run never worked out (difficulties getting an MDL compiler running in 2019 and all).

Since then, I've been working on running a PDP-10 emulator. There's not a whole lot of documentation for this, and so it is something of value to share with the group.

So join us Wednesday, and I'll walk through getting a PDP-10 emulator running with the ITS (Incompatible Timesharing System) operating system.
