SECOND ANNUAL Alafia River State Park's Equestrian Trail Loop Hike!

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! Everybody LOVED the Alafia River State Park hike last year so I am offering it again as our annual end-of-year hike!

The Alafia River State Park's Equestrian Trail loop (modified) is 6.9 miles of varied terrain and nice views.

This loop begins at the bike parking lot. We will start on the Old Agrico trail.
The first mile is quirky, meandering, narrow, with a bit of tricky footing, opening up to a wide equestrian path. The route encompasses a few rights and lefts, and ups and downs, and views of ponds, long-leaf pines and sleepy oaks.

About half of this route is in the sun so plan accordingly (hat, sunscreen). Bring water (mandatory) and a snack (optional) - we will take a break at mile 5.
Note: this is a multi-use trail; we may encounter horses.

As this route is modified, all participants must be able and willing to complete the entire route. We hike as a group, particularly on the first and last miles.

There is a park fee of $5 per car. Those interested in lunch afterwards should stop in at The Sandwich Shop in Lithia.
