Lake Rogers Park is a 272-acre park and preserve with a 2.25-mile trail around Lake Rogers in Odessa, Florida. The trail is easy and rated for all skill levels. There’s a water station at the beginning of the trail but all hikers should bring their water based on the number of miles you will be hiking. The trail is a mix of grass, sand, hard-packed dirt, and plenty of tree roots. The trail is wide and offers shade and open sun areas as well.
Please be prepared with bug repellent, sunscreen, a hat, snacks, and a drink. We will meet at 8:45 am and get started no later than 9:00 am, please be ready to go by 9 am. We will hike the 2.25-mile trail around the lake three times. The choice is yours to hike the trail one time, two times or three times. Each hike around the lake will start and end in the parking lot. We will take a very short break each time we end at the parking lot.
One time around = 2.25 miles
Two times around = 4.50 miles
Three times around = 6.75 miles
Maybe you want to attend some of the longer-distance hikes but you’re uncomfortable committing to the miles. Come hike some laps and see what you have in you. I think you might surprise yourself.
