Come ride the West Orange Trail (22 miles total)
For those attending the November Kickoff Camping weekend at Camp Joy - the Apopka Station is about 6.5 miles from camp by car.
We will depart from the Apopka Station and ride west to the Chapin Station. This will be approximately 11 miles one way and round trip approximately 22 miles. The trail is paved and wide and heavily used. All bicycles and riders are welcome. But you must be able to complete 25 miles.
We must use all cycling etiquette and announce "on your left" when passing. If you ride side-by-side please remember to fall into single file when passing and when someone is passing you as well. Follow all traffic laws.
• Helmets are required! Helmets
• Bicycles must follow all traffic laws of the State of Florida and obey all traffic controls and signals (Florida Statutes 316.2065). All users must yield at crossings and intersections.
• Give a clear warning signal when passing.
• Stay to the right except when passing.
There is water at designated locations along the trail, but having water with you is a requirement.
Please come prepared and ready to ride. Helmets are required. Additionally, your bicycle must be in good working order, tires inflated to the required tire pressure before you arrive. Tires lose tire pressure. Do NOT count on the air pressure. Check your air pressure before arriving at the trailhead.
