Springtime in Green Swamp East!

Come with us to Green Swamp East!

Green Swamp East is one of our favorite places to visit. This hike has woody paths, gravel throughways and lots of bridges!

We are changing it up this year. The route will be an out-and-back to Motts Hammock campsite via the Florida National Scenic trail. We'll return to our cars via old roads and the FNST. Total distance: approximately 10.5 miles.

It’s turkey hunting season and you may see hunters.

Deep ruts on the roads collect water - sometimes too much to hop over so it's likely you'll get your feet wet on this trip. (Bring a change of shoes for the trip home.)

NOTE: Participants must be able and willing to hike the entire route. We cannot allow anyone to try and find their way back to the car alone should they decide they don’t want to continue. We hike as a group.

Bring enough water for your day, snacks, sunscreen, hat, bug repellent (it will be buggy!) and anything that you need to make your hike comfortable. We'll take a break at the campsite.
