This will be about 8 miles and includes a section that some may be uncomfortable with.
Route TBD but I'm thinking the Buteo Trail, Bald Cypress, Overlook, Heartbreak Ridge to the power lines and turn back.
0ur return involves a partial bushwack through the floodplain. THIS IS A UNIQUELY SERENE AND BEAUTIFULLY SURREAL EXPERIENCE.
There is no trail on the floodplain section and it may have dense and/or tall vegetation. It is the same area I usually do in May, but it is dry enough right now. You may want long pants.
Bring water, closed toe footwear, trekking poles, ground cloth for sitting during break. whatever personal items you need. $2.00 day use fee.
Restrooms available at trailhead. Allow extra travel time for traffic.
