Cycling O’Leno to Ichetucknee – 14 miles out and back (24 miles total)
If you’re interested in cycling the O’Leno to Ichetucknee Greenway Trail, bring your bicycle to the O’leno Camping event. We leave from the Day Use Parking Area. The Group Camp site road is very thick sand in some areas and would be difficult for some bicycles to navigate. The greenway is 12 miles one way and is paved with asphalt, so all bicycles are suitable for this trail.
This 12-mile paved path joins two outstanding north central Florida state parks, Ichetucknee Springs and O'Leno. The greenway does run along a county road and there will be road crossings as it goes through the town of Fort White and includes little rolling terrain. Between Fort White and Ichetucknee Springs, the path is flat and shaded in the afternoon by adjacent trees.
Please bring your bike in working order and get ready to ride. Helmets are required! All skill levels are welcome, but please be comfortable completing a 24-mile bike ride and crossing traffic, driveways and other intown distractions.
I understand that bicycling involves certain risks which I am prepared to fully assume myself. I will follow all the traffic laws. I agree to waive all claims I may have against this meetup and host for damages or injuries sustained because of participation.
