Twists & Turns at Withlacoochee River Park!! Distance +/-7 mile
Details
Hey there peeps, let's give Withlacoochee River Park a little LOVE! This is a +/- 7 mile loop that takes us outside the park proper, on the Withlacoochee River Trail before re-entering the park to follow a handful of designated trails. Note, I am unable to do prehikes so please be prepared for anything.
We will meet in the first parking lot next to the Withlacoochee canoe dock. We will leave at the time posted above so plan to arrive before then. The map uploaded to photos shows the parking lot with the letter P.
This will be an easy hike on partially-shaded, mostly well-worn dirt trails or on a pine needle/dried leaf mixture. However, there may be some down trees and scrub to navigate. There may also be some wet places if there is rain prior to this event. At about the half way point, we will take a 20 minute break for snacks.
We should be able to maintain a moderate pace. There is no entrance fee. There are restrooms and water at several trailheads. This is a rain or shine event. To join this hike, you must be able to complete 7 miles in the time allotted and you must have experience hiking in the heat.
You will need at least 2 liters of water, snacks, bug spray, sunscreen, a hat, hikers, and anything else you deem necessary for your comfort. If it's a hot day (80+ degrees, bring an extra liter of water). There are no benches so you may want to bring a ground cloth to sit on during the snack break.
My number on the day of the hike is 813-713-2492.
Note, if you want to avoid a horrid long dirt road on your way to the park, take the 301/98-River Road-Auton Road-Withlacoochee route. But by all means, USE YOUR GPS to be sure you do turns the way you should on either of these routes.

I am asking that everyone signs up (no guests) so everyone can agree to the waiver and agree to the following conditions:
