☀️Let's Explore 🦅Terra Ceia Preserve State Park🌴🦜
Details
This little gem has really only been accessible to the public since about 2015 when the first trails were built with the assistance and hard work of the Suncoast Chapter, Florida Trail Association.
The nine miles of trails are perfect for birding and other wildlife viewing. Native and migrating birds take shelter in the lush forests. You may see little blue herons, white ibis, or even a bald eagle soaring above you.
Kayaking and canoeing are also a popular activity. The waterways wind through thick mangrove tunnels, where your kayak can glide under their outstretched limbs. Freshwater and saltwater make up this park providing for a wide array of piscine species.
It's been several years since we've visited. It has been a work in progress. I am looking forward to exploring and seeing how the understory has changed.
This will be 75% sun. So dress and prepare accordingly. No facilities or water at the trail head. There is no parking or day use fee.
Afterwards, we'll go to the THE CITRUS PLACE. The Citrus Place
