Cycling Tampa Bay – Urban Series
Come check out some of the trails around Tampa Bay. Some rides might be short, some might be long, some might run along busy noisy roads, and some might have beautiful shade, or no shade at all, and some might have water views. Here’s the most important part of this series; all these trail rides are on community trails, that means walkers, cyclists, dogwalkers, families walking in groups, adults pushing carriages, roller skates, skateboards, electric bikes and more. If you are looking to tear up the pavement, make time or are bothered by other people using the trail and slowing you down, please do not sign up for these rides.
Upper Tampa Bay Trail: This ride is approximately 5.9 miles each way, approximately 12 miles total. We will meet at the trail parking lot and head south on the Upper Tampa Bay trail. This trail has four road crossings. The roads are minor roads but still require you to pay attention and cross with caution. This portion of the Upper Tampa Bay trail spans from Ehrlich Road Trailhead to the Montague Trailhead. There is water at approximately 3 miles and bathrooms at Channel Park at approximately 3.5 miles. There is also water at each trailhead along the trails. You must still start your ride with water.
HELMETS: Helmets are required for all cyclists who ride with Suncoast Outdoors events.
This is a community trail, and it is well represented throughout all the communities it passes through. Expect it to be busy!
Make sure your bike is in good condition before the ride and have spare tube, pump, etc. in case of an emergency.
I understand that bicycling involves certain risks which I am prepared to fully assume myself. I will follow all the traffic laws. I agree to waive all claims I may have against this meetup and host for damages or injuries sustained because of participation.
