Cycling Tampa Bay – Urban Series

Come check out some of the trails around Tampa Bay. Some rides might be short, some might be long, some might run along busy noisy roads, and some might have beautiful shade, or no shade at all, and some might have water views. Here’s the most important part of this series; all these trail rides are on community trails, that means walkers, cyclists, dogwalkers, families walking in groups, adults pushing carriages, roller skaters, electric bikes and more. If you are looking to tear up the pavement, make time or are bothered by other people using the trail and slowing you down, please do not sign up for these rides.

Courtney Campbell Trail: This ride is approximately 11 miles each way, approximately 20 miles total. We will meet at the trail parking lot and ride west along the Courtney Campbell Causeway and up and over the bridge into Clearwater. There’s only a couple of streets to cross in the beginning and then it’s smooth sailing along the beautiful causeway. It will be busy with trail-users so stay alert but be sure to take the time to enjoy the view.

There are restrooms at the park trailhead and on the causeway, but at the beginning of the ride. There is NO drinking water along the trail, and it will be hot, this trail has no canopy, we will be wide open to the elements. Bring water and snacks to sustain you for 20 miles.

HELMETS: Helmets are required for all cyclists who ride with Suncoast Outdoors events.

This community trail is often very busy with all types of activities. Expect it to be busy!
Make sure your bike is in good condition before the ride and have spare tube, pump, etc. in case of an emergency.

I understand that bicycling involves certain risks which I am prepared to fully assume myself. I will follow all the traffic laws. I agree to waive all claims I may have against this meetup and host for damages or injuries sustained because of participation.
