KAYAK/SUP: Bayfront Park - Longboat Key - Cranes Bayou - Buttonwood Harbor

ARRIVAL: Please arrive no later than 8:30 am!
Upon arrival, unload kayaks in the unloading area, and then park your vehicles in the adjacent parking lot.
We launch at or around 9:00 am.
Please be on time so as to not be left behind!

Route: Join us for a scenic paddle along the intracoastal side of Longboat Key from Bayfront Park. We will visit Cranes Bayou, Buttonwood Harbor, and Whale Key (on the ICW side of Longboat Key).

This newly renovated BAYFRONT PARK is an undiscovered jewel on Longboat Key and has ample parking, an easy kayak launch, and facilities to rinse off your kayak/SUP after the paddle.

We will paddle north and around White Key. We then head south towards Whale Key, Buttonwood Harbor, Cranes Bayou, and Buttonwood Cove.

The total trip is 6+ miles. Due to possible adverse wind and tides, this paddle is suited for intermediate/experienced paddlers only

There are clean restrooms at this location.

This trip is for Suncoast Pedal & Paddle members exclusively.
No guests, pets, +1's, or spouses allowed on this trip.

UPON ARRIVAL: Please sign in on the "Participant Liability Waiver" BEFORE you get into the water.

Don't forget: PFD and whistle (both required by law), and (optional) water, bug spray, itch relief, sunscreen, water shoes, snacks, paddle float, bilge pump, spray skirt, paddle leash, etc.

BE CONSIDERATE: Since the demand to attend our paddling events is exceptionally high, we request that if you plan on NOT attending the paddle that you remove your name from the "attendee list" or the "waitlist" as soon as possible! Please be considerate of other members.
