Paddle Phillippi Estate Park to Roberts Bay and Beyond

This is a slow relaxed paddle over about 8 miles. Plan to arrive 30 minutes early so we can launch on time. If you're late, I won't wait.

Starting from the launch at 8:30 promptly, we'll paddle up Phillippi Creek and head north into Roberts Bay towards the Edwards Islands, spoil islands from when the ICW was dredged in the early 60s. From there we head into a canal and paddle out into Sarasota Bay and then enter Bayou Louise through another canal. In Bayou Louise there are 4 historically important homes from The Sarasota School of Architecture and being in kayaks will give us great views. From there we head back to Big Edwards Island for a break before returning to our launch spot.

BRING: Kayak/SUP, water, snack, PFD and whistle (required by law) and any other accessories you deem necessary.

It takes about 3 minutes to walk to the launch from the parking lot, so a kayak cart with wheels is recommended.
