Paddle City Island to Lido's Mangrove Tunnels

Details
Launching promptly at 8:30 from The Ken Thompson Boat Ramp, we'll paddle across the bay and under the bridge to the mangrove tunnels. After paddling in the tunnels and around Brushy Bayou, we'll take a break at the beach at Sandy Point so you can get wet and cool off before returning to City Island.
Plan to arrive 20-30 minutes early so you can be paddle ready at 8:30. If you're late, we don't wait.
DIRECTIONS: Once you're on City Island, go past Mote and just past the Save Our Seabirds Sanctuary, there's a right turn that leads to the boat ramp. Take it. It's a small road so be on the lookout. Don't drive to the end of City Island.
BRING: Kayak/SUP, PFD/whistle (required by law), water, snacks, etc.
This is mostly open water paddling. However, last year's storms have made the tunnels a little trickier to paddle in. Be prepared to duck and dodge.
If you're hungry afterwards, The Old Salty Dog and The New Pass Grill and Bait Shop are the only places to eat on City Island.
