KAYAK/SUP: Lower Braden River
Details
IWe launch from the Braden River Boat Ramp (SR 64 BOAT RAMP) which is located at the confluence of the Braden and Manatee Rivers. There is plenty of parking at this location. Please do not park in the designated boat trailer parking, but close to the entrance to the park.
Please be at the boat ramp by 8:30 am since we leave between 8:45 and 9:00 am.
The Braden River is a 21 mile waterway that drains an 83 sq. mile area watershed in west-central Florida and is the largest tributary of the Manatee River.
We will paddle up the Braden River and head south for approximately 3.5 miles. Take a small break in a cove at the halfway mark and then return.
The Braden River is well protected from wind and currents and is abundant with Mangrove islands.
Total trip mileage is approximately 7 miles.
No guests, pets or +1's allowed on this paddle.
NO kayak rental facility at this location
Please sign Waiver prior to departure!
This trip is for intermediate-experienced level paddlers. You should be able to keep up with the relatively relaxed pace of the group for 7 miles. Don't forget to bring the mandatory PFD and WHISTLE and the optional bug spray, bilge pump, paddle leash, sunscreen, water, water shoes, itch/sting relief, snacks, etc.
