What we’re about
The Suncoast Sandpipers hold noncompetitive walks that promote lifelong fun, fitness and friendship for all ages and abilities. Participants walk 5/10 kilometer routes in a group or on their own with written instructions. The club is a member of the American Volkssport Association. Members are offered an opportunity to track achievements in volkssport books but this is not required to participate in Sandpiper events. After the walk, participants are invited to enjoy a meal provided by the club or at a nearby restaurant.

Lace up your walking shoes and join the Suncoast Sandpipers Walking Club for a delightful walk in the Ballast Point section of Tampa. We will start our walk near the soon to be restored pier, taking in the fresh Tampa Bay breeze and views then explore the historic parks and neighborhoods. Pets are welcome on a leash (or in a stroller!).
It will be hot so be sure to carry water and use sun protection.
We’d like to enjoy a Michelin recommended eatery, Big Ray’s Fish Camp. However, inside seating is very limited and heat may prevent eating outside. If so, we’ll enjoy Leon’s!
Fees: Normal $3 fee applies; Sandpiper and new walker coupons are ok.Heads up! If there is a heat advisory or warning, event will be cancelled. If you say you are coming you will be notified.
