Beat the Behavioral Interview

Details
Ready to turn the worst part of a job interview into something you can manage with confidence? The next Suncoast Software Skills Meetup will be focused on conquering behavioral interview questions, which are often the “make or break” questions that determine if you’ll proceed to the next phase in the hiring process... or not.
You’ve encountered behavioral interview questions before. They’re ones like...
- Tell me about a time when you failed.
- Describe a conflict you had with a coworker.
- Give me an example of when you had to work with a difficult person.
- Tell me about a time you received critical feedback.
- Give an example of a time you went above and beyond.
- Describe a time when you had multiple priorities. How did you manage them?
- Tell me about a time you disagreed with your manager.
These questions often catch people off guard and trip them up, but they don’t have to! With some preparation, you can be ready for these questions, figure out what the interviewer is really asking, and answer in a way that tells the interviewer “Yes, you should move this candidate to the next phase.”
In the upcoming Suncoast Software Skills Meetup session, you’ll see:
- Why they ask behavioral interview questions (and it’s not because they want you to suffer)
- The behavioral interview questions that you’re likely to be asked
- How to prepare for the behavioral interview
- How to answer behavioral interview questions
- Painfully hilarious examples of behavioral interviews gone terribly, tragically wrong
This meetup for job seekers at any career level! It doesn’t matter if you’re a recent graduate looking for their first job, a career changer pivoting to something new, or an experienced worker trying to make it through a difficult job market — you need to beat the behavioral interview! Whether you're actively interviewing or just want to be prepared, you'll leave this meetup with a plan, practical skills and increased confidence.
Join us on Monday, July 14th at 6 p.m. at Embarc Collective and beat the behavioral interview!
This meetup was made possible by the Tampa Bay Tech Meetup Scholarship, a joint Embarc Collective/Bank of America project, which provides Suncoast Software Skills Meetup with the venue, along with food and drink for attendees for free!
