What we’re about
Sunday Nomads (formerly Sunday Assembly Knoxville) are a group of intellectually curious people who don't identify with any religion, while being accepting of and interested in all of them.
Having no spiritual home, the Sunday Nomads visit other worship services, meditation groups, science lectures, philosophical discussion groups, activist movements, volunteer organizations, festivals, and live music events.
Having a few familiar faces makes it easier to try out new groups and activities, especially if they are outside your comfort zone.
Our goal is to promote the building of broader coalitions between the many organizations in East Tennessee that share similar goals, and productive discussions with those whose goals may seem different.
We follow the mantras of Sunday Assembly to "Live Better, Help Often, and Wonder More" and practice "Radical Inclusivity". While most of our members tend to be secular and universalist, anyone is welcome to join.
All events are organized and hosted by other organizations, so even if there are no RSVPs in this group, the events should still be well attended.
When it’s practical, the Sunday Nomads will go out for food or drinks after the event to discuss the ideas presented, opportunities for coalition building, and otherwise integrate the experience.
