Sunday Assembly December 2025
Details
Join us at CFI West this weekend for a December Sunday Assembly that’s all about showing up for each other. Our speaker is Ryan McCune, MSW, ACSW, a former children and family therapist who has worked with kids facing some of the toughest challenges imaginable. His talk, Creating the Capacity for Compassion, digs into what actually helps someone grow, how to offer support without burning yourself out, and what curiosity, empathy, and a strong foundation can do for anyone who cares about others.
We’re also bringing some holiday fun. The SALA Kids will be performing a short skit, and Monk Turner is coming to lead us in music that’s sure to leave us feeling festive. Ugly holiday sweaters are welcome if you’re in the spirit.
After the program, plan to stick around for our Holiday Potluck in the lobby. If you can, bring a favorite seasonal dish to share. If not, come enjoy what’s there. Everyone’s welcome at the table.
As part of closing out the year, we’ll also celebrate HumanLight, which honors humanist values like reason, compassion, and community. We’ll end with a simple candle ceremony that reminds us how much brighter things feel when we’re caring for each other.
Michael Lewis and Aaron Carter are hosting, and we’ll be livestreaming on Zoom (link below) for anyone joining from home.
Save your spot and come be part of a season that’s all about care, connection, and community.
