I'm With The Banned

Details

“Keep your nose in a book – and keep other people's noses out of which books you choose to stick your nose into!”
― Art Spiegelman

“Because all books are forbidden when a country turns to terror. The scaffolds on the corners, the list of things you may not read. These things always go together.”
― Philippa Gregory, The Queen's Fool

Join Sunday Assembly Nashville on October 12 at East Park Community Center as we stick our noses into banned books, those treasures which Stephen King advised schoolkids to “run, don't walk, to the nearest nonschool library or to the local bookstore and get whatever it was that they banned … because that's exactly what you need to know.” Our speaker will be author and librarian Lisa Bubert.

Our all ages program begins at 10:30 a.m. Off street parking is plentiful and free. We enjoy a potluck brunch after Assembly.

Sunday Assembly is a celebration of the one life we know we have. We want Sunday Assembly to be a place of love and compassion where, no matter what your situation, you are welcomed, accepted, loved, and encouraged to live your best life.
