Balboa Park Walk (and Carnivorous Plant Show!)
Details
Come join us for a lovely Sunday morning Balboa Park amble and chat followed by a visit to the San Diego Carnivorous Plant Society's Annual Show and Sale. The event begins with the 1.5 mile Balboa Park Gardens Loop which we will endeavor to complete at the pace of 1.5 miles an hour. On this walk, we will survey succulents and drought-resistant plants from around the world in the Desert Garden; view a stunning display of approximately 1,600 roses, including more than 130 varieties (which we have been advised to stop and smell) while in the Inez Grant Parker Memorial Rose Garden; behold the majestic and venerable Morton Bay Fig Tree; and celebrate San Diego's iconic Lily Pond all just before we enter the intriguing and engrossing world of carnivorous plants. Wow! Talk about an action packed two hours!
Your event host, Gracie Soden, will meet you at the Balboa Park Miniature Train.
