Sunday Assembly with Dr. Sasha Gershunov

Global warming provides steroids to a few of the regional and local impactful extremes such as heat waves, drought, wildfires, precipitation from atmospheric rivers, and coastal flooding/erosion events. Dr. Sasha Gershunov, Research Meteorologist at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UCSD will give a whirlwind tour of human caused global warming and its influence on a few choice iconic weather patterns that define our Southern California climate.

Craving something sweet and savory but don’t want to eat junk food? What would you say if there are desserts out there that are nutritious and easy to make that satisfy your sweet tooth? Join Fran and Andy Roth and Beth after the assembly for an easy vegan dessert demonstration. Samples and recipes will be provided.

Sunday Assembly San Diego is an inclusive, non-religious community that meets to hear inspirational talks, connect for service projects, sing songs and generally celebrate life. Assemblies are free to attend, and everyone is welcome. AND!! Free child care for ages 1.5 and up is available at every Assembly.
