Roaming Restaurants: Phil's BBQ in Point Loma

Whether you are attending a Sunday Assembly San Diego (SASD) event for the first time or the hundreth, we welcome you! Join us at Phil's BBQ in the Sports Arena/Midway/Point Loma district. They have fantastic BBQ choices, a veggie burger, salads, and several side dishes that would be vegetarian or vegan friendly. But it is clearly a meat and chicken place mainly. We meet over a meal to enjoy good food and even better conversation, to meet new people and renew old friendships. Our motto is "live better, help often, wonder more" and all three of those things often happen at our monthly Roaming Restaurants events. Our secondary motto is "we welcome all who welcome all," so all truly are welcome to attend any of our community events.

We will meet at Phil's at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, which is when they open for the day. There are often long lines to get seated at this location, so arriving as early as possible seems like the best way to shorten the length of time we many need to wait for a table or tables. Please keep your RSVP updated, if your plans fluctuate, so we will know how many seats we will need to ask for. Hope to see you there!

We try to find restaurants that serve a variety of types of foods for reasonable prices, that are easily wheelchair accessible, that can be reached on public transit, and that have parking nearby. If you would like to recommend one of your favorite restaurants that would fit that bill, let an SASD organizer know. We love to get recommendations.

You can reach this month's destination on MTS bus route 8 or 9, both of which stop right in front of the restaurant's parking lot, which is spacious.
