Women Who Write and Critique

Are you a female writer seeking empowerment, support, fun, and constructive feedback? Do you want to read your work and/or discuss what's coming up in your writing journey in a FEMALE-ONLY group? Then this may be the group for you!

All reading and critiquing is done during the Meetup itself; nobody has to read or critique work in advance. The advantage of this is that when we catch mistakes or things that seem "off," both the reader and writer can discuss those in real time, in the moment the thoughts occur.

All genres and types of creative writing are welcome, however, the unofficial motto of Sunday Assembly San Diego is "we welcome all who welcome all," so content that makes at risk groups not feel safe won't be a good fit for this group. Think: racism, homophobia, or sexism and the like.

Writers will be sharing their thoughtful work, so having reliable, genuine readers allows for honest feedback to make our writing better. Group members who RSVP but then no-show three times (without canceling the RSVP) will be dropped from the group. Participants will need to display their first name, and appear live with their camera on for security reasons.
