May's assembly speaker:
Stop! Grammar time!
Everybody thinks they know what 'grammar' is, but today, we'll take a linguist's perspective, and find that grammar is much more complicated than we think, with hidden rules, gray areas, complicated instincts, difficult standards, constant change, and big questions about 'right' and 'wrong'. Dr. Will Styler, Associate Teaching Professor of Linguistics at UCSD will share that irregardless of your perspective on grammar, this is a talk we all might should be their four.
