Meal Kit Sunday Assembly Line
Details
We’re excited to announce that we’ll be participating in the American Empathy Project on May 2nd! Led by the American Humanist Association, the American Empathy Project has funded 101 service projects nationwide that will empower community members to combat our country’s crisis of cruelty. One day of action — one unified push to fight for empathy!
Join us at Vacation Isle Park on Mission Bay. We'll be packing meal kits for our local food bank, doing a mini-cleanup of the park, and writing letters to seniors in assisted living facilities.
Our previous record is 50 meal kits - this time, we're aiming for 100 (or even more)! All supplies are provided, but if you'd like to contribute, bring along a can of diced tomatoes(14.5 oz), a can of chili(approx 15 oz), or a box of macaroni and cheese (vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free versions welcome) - the more food we have, the more of our neighbors we can feed! There's a lot going on we can't change right now, but this is a little thing we can do together to help.
How to find us: We'll be at the gazebo to the east of the Amphitheather. Look for flags and signs.
Getting there: Parking is available. The 9 bus stops approximately 0.3 miles from the location.
Restrooms: Public restrooms are available at the location. Accessibility of restrooms undetermined.
Accessibility: The event takes place in a public park. Accessible parking is available. A concrete walkway with a curb ramp/cutout from the parking goes to the activity location. Participants with wheelchairs and mobility limitations have previously participated successfully in our events at this location. Accessibility of public restrooms undetermined.
