Sunday Assembly San Diego is an inclusive, non-religious community that meets to hear thoughtful talks, connect for service projects, sing songs, and generally celebrate life (with snacks). Assemblies are free to attend, and everyone is welcome. AND!! Free child care for ages 1.5 and up is available at every Assembly.

March's assembly speaker:
The Just-World Illusion
The Just-World Illusion is a cognitive bias that leads humans to assume that people typically get what they deserve. We all have examples of this bias in our lives, and blatant examples that seemingly disprove the idea that we are living in a just world.

The Just-World Hypothesis illusion is shielded from examples of injustice by three interconnected illusions: “divine justice” (which secular people tend to disbelieve); free will; and meritocracy.

Ethicist Dr. Aaron Rabinowitz will argue that the need to believe our world is mostly just is buried deep in our psyches and affects how we interact with others, sometimes on essential human levels. He will also share a taboo truth that can help us bust this internal myth and meet the needs of others in a way that helps them flourish.

Stay after the assembly for coffee, snacks, and our first annual PieFest event, where you can eat savory and sweet pie. Pie for LUNCH, you say? We say yes, indeed. Please RSVP for that separately here, and check out the details.

The Bankers Hill Club features an accessible facility, including accessible parking spots and bathrooms. There is plenty of parking available.
