Group Description:
Gwinnett Secular Fellowship (GSF) was formed for people living in metro Atlanta who would like to experience a sense of community through friendly and interesting discussions in a secular setting. Religious ideas centered in the supernatural are not promoted in the space, but that does not mean you have to be non-religious to attend. At GSF, we do not force our personal views on others or denounce others’ views. At each meeting we have a single discussion topic and afterward, those who wish, enjoy more casual conversation over dinner at a nearby restaurant.
NOTE: This event is free but if you are able, we would appreciate a small donation ($1-$5 suggested) to offset the cost of renting future meeting rooms. You can go to this link or you will have a no-pressure opportunity to donate at the meeting.
GSF is part of Sunday Assembly Atlanta (SAA). SAA is a secular, humanist community without deity, dogma, or doctrine that helps individuals “Live Better, Help Often, and Wonder More” in the one life we know we have. SAA hopes to enrich your life with connection, curiosity, purpose, and fun.
Accessibility:
There is a restroom in the sky lounge and on the ground floor. Ramps and an elevator are available.
In-Person Discussion Guidelines:
When we're chatting in person, we want to help everyone feel safe, respected and heard by:
- Speaking one at a time using the finger queue system (we'll teach you!)
- Using "I" statements: When sharing your thoughts, say "I feel...", "I believe" instead of "You make me feel..." or "We think that…".
- Respecting all views: Don't try to impose your opinions on others or put down others' views.
This event is NOT hosted, sponsored, or endorsed by the Gwinnett County Public Library. Any views that are discussed in this meeting are not a reflection of the Gwinnett County Public Library’s views.
