What we’re about
"Wherever you are, in whatever circumstances you may be, strive to be a lover." Rumi
Rumi was a great mystic and visionary poet from the 13th Century, born in Balkh in the region now Afghanistan and living most of his life in the ancient city of Konya, today in Turkey. He is considered one of the greatest Persian writers of all time, singing of a path to the Divine Beloved through music, ecstatic dance and friendship.
We are a small fortnightly gathering to read and reflect on Rumi's poetry in English and explore what it can help us understand about our own life.
We also hold a quarterly creative writing afternoon, a monthly meditation evening open to anyone, and occasional social events such as nature hikes or meals together in a restaurant.
All are welcome, from any personal or spiritual background.
