Rumi's Zikr - a Sufi-Shamanic Journey into the Heart

Details
A relaxed evening each month to join together for vision and healing, welcoming people of any spiritual background or none.
Zikr is a spiritual practice of connecting to the heart through reciting "Divine Names" in Arabic. The way we practice is very simple, and comes down to us through 700 years from Rumi himself. During Ottoman times it was performed together each morning by the dervishes in Sufi lodges in Rumi's tradition.
The practice is akin to shamanic journeying. As we chant rhythmically together, we "travel" through hidden worlds within the heart until we reach the mystery of our essence, returning at the end with blessings for the Earth and all those who need healing. It recreates in miniature the Night Journey of the Prophet Muhammad, up through the angelic heavens and beyond into the Divine Presence.
Each session will begin with guided relaxation, followed by zikr and silent meditation, and ending with a little time for conversation from the heart.
A suggested donation of £5 would be much appreciated to help cover the cost of room hire. Please come though if you can't afford this - your company itself is a contribution!
We often go for coffee and cake at a nearby cafe afterwards.
