Rumi passed from this world on December 17th 1273. It's known as his Sheb-i Arus, his "Wedding Night" when he was united with the Divine Beloved. In Turkey and around the world people celebrate his life on or around this date.

We will come together to remember Rumi, his life and teaching. Shaikh Daud Bellak of Rumi's sufi tradition will join us and lead a ceremony of Zikr'ullah - Divine Remembrance - in the way which has been passed down from Rumi. Shaikh Daud is 84 years old - he trained as a whirling dervish in Konya, Turkey, 50 years ago, and served as the attendant and closest student of the last Mevlevi shaikh there. He now lives in quiet retirement Edinburgh.

Come, come whoever you are! All are welcome and warmly invited. The event will be free - donations welcome towards the cost of room hire, if you're able to contribute.
