What we’re about
Welcome to Sunday Vacations – Your Community of Explorers!
At Sunday Vacations, we bring together travel enthusiasts, adventure seekers, and curious minds to embark on unforgettable journeys - both near and far. Our mission is to foster a vibrant, inclusive community built on connection, cultural exchange, and shared experiences.
We organize carefully curated trips, helping you discover hidden gems and unique experiences internationaly and right in our own backyard. Whether it's a hike, a local festival, or a day trip across the border, our adventures are designed to spark curiosity, joy, and friendships.
We embrace the wisdom of the Chinese proverb:
"在家靠父母,在外靠朋友"
“At home, depend on your parents; away from home, rely on your friends.”
This group is your home away from home - a place to find support, guidance, and camaraderie while navigating life abroad. Whether you’re here for work, study, or just exploring, we welcome you to join our journey.
Our Mission
Sunday Vacations is an initiative of Ujamaa ASBL, a nonprofit organization registered in Belgium.
Through our trips, we aim to build a strong, welcoming community while also contributing to positive social impact.
In the long term, we want our activities to help fund creative, youth-led tourism initiatives in underrepresented regions - such as young storytellers and guides working to promote their local areas in authentic and inspiring ways.
By traveling together, we believe we can do more than just explore - we can help amplify new voices, create lasting connections, and foster a more meaningful kind of adventure.

🏮 Please bring a red-light headlamp or torch (Decathlon has them).

As winter approaches and daylight fades earlier, we’ll take advantage of the calm, blue-hour mood for a gentle late-afternoon walk through Parc de Woluwe - one of Brussels’ most elegant urban parks.
We’ll follow an easy loop along the lakes and the Woluwe River, enjoying that unique winter serenity: silhouettes of trees against the sky, reflections on the water, and the quiet shift from day to night.
After the walk, we’ll warm up together with a drink at Brasserie des Étangs Mellaerts, our meeting and parking point.
### 🕯️ A bit of history, softly told at dusk
Created during the Belle Époque (1896–1898) as part of King Leopold II’s urban vision, the park was designed as a landscaped corridor linking Brussels to Tervuren. The gentle river, the chain of lakes, and the elegant avenues still echo that era’s idea of blending beauty, nature, and modern city life.

- Meet at Brasserie des Étangs Mellaerts, Bd du Souverain 275, 1150 Woluwe-Saint-Pierre
- Parking available on site
- Easy access via Tram 39/44 from Montgomery or Tram 8 from Roodebeek - get off at Musée du Tram
- We start and end the walk at the ClubHouse, followed by warm drinks together ☕
