Valkenburg Roman Escape: Hike, Catacombs & Community Day Trip 🇳🇱
Details
Walk Through Roman History, Hidden Catacombs & the Hills of Limburg
Escape Brussels for a full-day community adventure to the charming medieval town of Valkenburg — where Roman history, scenic landscapes, underground tunnels, and meaningful social connection come together.
Together, we’ll explore one of the Netherlands’ oldest tourist towns through a unique 9.5 km immersive walking experience inspired by the ancient Via Belgica, the Roman road connecting the French coast to the German Rhineland.
Along the way, we’ll discover the story of Magistrate Titus Tertinius Cornutus, walk through Valkenburg’s historic streets and green hills, enjoy a relaxed group lunch, and visit the fascinating Roman Catacombs hidden beneath the town.
Whether you’re joining solo or with friends, this experience is designed for people who enjoy culture, nature, slow travel, and meeting open-minded international people.
People increasingly seek experiences that create belonging, shared memories, and real-world connection — especially around outdoor and social activities.
