This September, Sunday Vacations is heading to Bosnia & Herzegovina for a week of mountains, culture, food, history, road trips and good company.
We'll start in Sarajevo, explore the mountains surrounding the city, travel south through Bosnia into beautiful Herzegovina, and return to Sarajevo for our final evening together.
The idea is simple: discover an amazing country with a small international group, without turning the trip into a rushed coach tour.
Expect hiking, beautiful landscapes, Bosnian food, historic towns, coffee stops, road trips, shared dinners and plenty of time to get to know the people you're travelling with.

🏔️ THE TRIP
Day 1 - Arrival in Sarajevo
The Brussels group arrives in the morning, giving us almost a full first day in Sarajevo. We'll explore the old city before meeting everyone for our Sunday Vacations welcome evening.
London participants arriving later can simply join us that evening.
Day 2 - Sarajevo
We'll discover a city shaped by Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian, Yugoslav and modern European history.
Later we'll head into the mountains above Sarajevo for views, walking and some Olympic history.
Day 3 - Bosnian Mountains
We'll leave the city for a moderate mountain hike through some of Bosnia's beautiful landscapes.
You don't need to be an experienced hiker, but you should be comfortable walking for several hours on mountain terrain.
Day 4 - Road trip to Herzegovina
Time to head south!
We'll travel through mountains, rivers and small towns towards Herzegovina, with stops and experiences along the way.
We'll arrive at our second base in the afternoon and explore around sunset before dinner together.
Day 5 - Discover Herzegovina
A day of historic towns, rivers, countryside, viewpoints and waterfalls.
Depending on the weather and final programme, there may also be an opportunity for swimming or relaxing beside the water.
Day 6 - Adventure and return to Sarajevo
We'll slowly make our way north again, including another nature or outdoor experience along the way.
Back in Sarajevo, the evening will be flexible for dinner, drinks or exploring.
Day 7 - Slow Sarajevo
After several active days, we're deliberately keeping our last full day more relaxed.
Sleep a little longer, have Bosnian coffee, explore, shop, wander around or simply enjoy the city.
In the evening we'll meet again for our Sunday Vacations farewell evening.
Day 8 - Departure
Time to say goodbye to Bosnia and probably start planning the next trip. 😊

The organisation fee for this Signature Experience depends on your membership:

This covers the Sunday Vacations organisation and community coordination of the trip.

Flights, accommodation, local transport, guides, activities, meals and other travel services are separate and will be clearly communicated before you make a financial commitment.
Where applicable, these services will be booked or paid directly with the relevant local provider.

👥 WHO CAN JOIN?
This trip is especially suitable for international people, expats and solo travellers who want to discover Bosnia as part of a group.
You don't need to know anyone beforehand. In fact, many people join Sunday Vacations trips alone.
You should simply be open to meeting new people, exploring a different culture and taking part in moderately active days.

🥾 WHAT TO EXPECT
This is an active community trip, so expect quite a bit of walking and one moderate mountain hike.
Bring comfortable walking or hiking shoes, a small backpack, waterproof jacket and clothes suitable for both warm days and cooler mountain conditions.
The final itinerary may change slightly depending on weather, availability and local conditions.
