We’ve been privileged to welcome some great speakers to Sunderland Digital this past year to talk to us about all things UX and design, but we’re shifting focus in September to deliver two talks aimed at developers, deep diving into two of the hottest topics in web development right now.

Making GitLab a PWA

Turning a large scale website into a Progressive Web App doesn’t have to be hard. In this talk, Sam Beckham, Frontend Engineer at GitLab, will show you how he made GitLab into a PWA with less than 100 lines of code.

The Almighty JAMstack

Front End Development has changed dramatically over the last few years thanks to browsers becoming more advanced and the rise of powerful JavaScript libraries like React. As front end engineers we can do so much with our websites and web apps.

In this talk, Jamie Bradley, Founder of Endeavour Digital, will discuss ways that we can use JAMstack to our advantage and develop very powerful experiences. Jamie will also walk through previous examples and discuss things that he learned from the solutions that he used.
