Trail: Big Horn Overlook Trail
Join us for a refreshing free sunrise hike each weekday! This is a community event, open year-round and welcoming both regulars and newcomers.
• Distance: 3 miles round trip

• Elevation Gain: 400 feet
• Pace: Semi-fast (about 1 hour total)
• Dog-Friendly: Yes — dogs must be leashed and owners must clean up after them
• Flashlight: For the start of our hike.


New or casual hikers are welcome to do a half hike — meet us at the photo viewpoint and walk back with the group.


After the hike, many in the group head to a local coffee shop or park to socialize. Optional and always friendly!
Why Join Now?

The sun is rising later each morning — now is a great time to start before we return to darker, colder mornings.
Aim for 2–3 times a week for fitness, connection, and the beauty of the desert sunrise.

Note:

It’s difficult to know what each person can handle when it comes to hiking. No one knows your body better than you do. Be safe. Hiking is not the same as walking — it may involve soft sand, uneven terrain, and elevation changes. Always review the trail distance and description before joining to make sure it’s right for you.
