Sunrise Paddle: Cape Fear River

We'll meet at 6:58 am at the Avent Ferry Boat Ramp on the east side of the river starting with a brief introduction and safety meeting. We'll explore the Cape Fear River and tributaries looking for osprey, herons, turtles, snakes and other interesting wildlife.

Be sure to dress for the weather and bring water with a few snacks. There are no restroom facilities at this boat launch.

I also suggest leaving a change of clothes in your car in the unlikely event that you get more than intended.

I will bring six(6) boats with PFDs and paddles on this trip. One boat will be for me.

Plan to be ready to paddle at 6:58 am (which means you need to be at the boat launch at least 15 minutes early). This is particularly important for folks borrowing a boat.
