This is a great intermediate hike with beautiful views of the ocean

We'll start on the Spur Ridge trail, which is .7 miles of pretty steep uphill (I'll be the backmarker for sure), then join Boat Road trail for 1.3 miles of up and down to Bommer Ridge; then we'll turn back and pass Spur Ridge, and take a side trail to a cliff where there's a great place to watch the sunset (if we time it right). Total should be 4.5 miles or so...

Everyone can go at their own pace, since this is an out and back hike, we won't lose anyone along the way =)

The address listed is for the house next to the Gate 14 entrance - Parking is along a residential street; please be respectful of the residents; park then come inside the trailhead gate to meet the group.

This group is dedicated to taking beginning to intermediate trail hikes while watching the sun go down in beautiful Orange County! This is the perfect way to "de-stress" from the day.

The hike will begin at 6:00 pm sharp; if you're late, hit the trail anyway and try to catch us =)

Update: - Please note that this is rattlesnake season. I was hiking a couple of weeks ago, and had close encounters with two different rattlers, abou half an hour apart. That hike was in the middle of the day, when the snakes tend to be more active, seeking the warmth of the sun. Please be sure to keep your eyes open; I have a snakebite kit in my backpack, and will be carrying a hiking stick with me - recommend you consider doing the same....
