Memorial Hike on San Juan Cap's PATRIOT TRAIL to Flag Hill and Sunday Brunch

ABOUT THE HIKE: From the Camino Las Ramblas trail head, we take the Las Rambles trail turning left onto the Harbor View Trail and right onto the Patriot Trail to the top of Flag Hill. An out and back hike, the trail follows a ridge line with a considerable up and down roller coaster. This is a very popular trail through a nature preserve that offers sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and a spectacular 360 degree vista from the top of Flag Hill. This advanced beginner hike is 3.5 miles round trip with 400 feet of elevation gain/loss. There are no restrooms at the trailhead or on the trail. The trail is dog friendly.

ABOUT THE PICNIC: We will enjoy a mid-hike rest stop on top of Flag Hill. Bring snacks to share. BYOB (beverage).

ADDITIONAL NOTE: At the flag pole, we will gather for a moment of silence out of respect for this Memorial Day.

DRIVING DIRECTION: From the 5 Freeway, exit on PCH/Camino Las Ramblas. Turn left on Camino Las Ramblas heading inland and follow this street until it dead ends at the trail head. Parking is street side. There is no cost for parking at this location.
