Hike the Historic Euclid Avenue Bridal Trail in Upland

Details

ABOUT THE HIKE: This urban hike is six miles round trip with over 550 feet of elevation up and back a broad, tree shaded, dirt trail in the heart of Upland. The Euclid Avenue Bridal Trail is historic because in the early 1900s a mule powered trolley once traversed the route. Now it is popular with local hikers, runners, walkers and equestrians. We will meetup next to the Chase Bank in the Vons shopping center just west of the trailhead. The trail begins at the "Madonna of the Trails" statue and proceeds due north in the median strip of Euclid Avenue, from Foothill Boulevard (aka the Historic Route 66) to 24th Street. Since the walk is up and back, the trail is suitable for all experience levels taking it as fast or slow and as long or short as comfortable. We will shoot for the full six miles, taking approximately two plus hours. Restrooms are available in the shopping center at our meetup location, but not along the trail. The hike is dog friendly.

POST HIKE CELEBRATION: We are suggesting that hungry and thirsty hikers enjoy a late morning breakfast or lunch at Sammy's Cafe in the Von's shopping center. Seating is outdoor or indoor. Menu items are reasonable priced and can be found here:

DRIVING DIRECTIONS: From O.C., take the 57 Freeway north.... exit heading east on Interstate 10 approximately 9 miles.... exit heading north on Euclid Avenue approximately one mile.... turn left on Foothill Blvd. and immediate right into the Von's shopping center. We meetup next to Chase Bank.
