Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. This section of the Pacific Crest Trail takes you from Boulder Oaks Campground near Kitchen Creek Falls to Lake Morena Campground. This section can be done as part of the entire PCT hike, or as a day trip. It can be done as a day hike point-to-point, or as a longer out and back. This section of the PCT is very open with little shade, so if attempting during the warmer months it is best to start early to avoid heat. Gaiters are a great idea on this section, as the trail travels through patches yucca and other prickly Mojave Desert plants.

In Altrails the hike is northbound. We will be hiking southernly.
